Should there be a Kids Forum?

How a kids forum would work:

1. Parents must be active posting members of the forum.

2. Parents must request child(ren)s access to the forum by stating the member name they will register with in a PM to me, thereby also granting permission for their child(ren) to use the forum.

3. The kids forum will not be viewable by any other members or non-members, exept moderators.

4. Parents who would like to monitor their children in the forum can request privileges to read the forum.

5. Parents must be fully aware at all times that their child is using the forum.

6. Any signs of misuse will result in the offending child(ren) being removed. If problems keep arising, the forum will just be closed.

I believe that we have a very decent membership base and this feature will not be abused. However, I also don't want the blame for anything, especially where children are concerned!

Don't get why it has to be sooo 'private'. Surely it doesn't matter what adults read that the kids have written.

Because it only takes one thing to happen where kids are concerned and it's bye bye website, branding of a paedophile ring etc etc.

I've seen it happen before, and it's not happening here!

Fair enough. I'll give a yes vote, my kids are too young at the mo, so it doesn't matter. Would be a good idea in principle having heard parents tales of apprehension from the kids. Not convinced it's gonna take off tho.

I'll give it a "yes" vote, even though I still have doubts on its popularity. I won't stand in the way of a medium where kids can talk to each other about emigrating and living in New Zealand.

what is the age group we are targeting? Since children from different age groups has whole lot of different topics. 5-9years compared to 10-15years and compared to 16-18 (still children sometimes...ha!)
