Making new friends

Nice post Johnty, can't wait to sample some of the Kiwi mentality. Sounds totally like me, it's horrible tho, I'm not even there yet and I already fear for the future preservation of the 'Kiwi way'. With the influx of people moving there I can't help but worry that there are probably some real badduns getting through immigration. :icon_sad:

Yes, this is my fear as well, having seen it happen here. We first came to Oman in ?99 and there wasn?t a speck of litter anywhere, the buildings were immaculately kept and the driving was excellent. Just 4 years later we returned to see quite a difference. There?s litter blowing about, a lot of buildings look like they could do with tidying up and the boy racers that scream about the place at all hours of the day and night bring it home to us that nothing stays the same forever. It?s still a very beautiful place, but we?re very sad to see the decline in just 4 years. I?m sure a lot of the cause is influences coming from certain other Gulf states where this sort of thing is the norm.

The great influx of immigrants from other countries is bound to have some effect on NZ, as they bring in issues from their own culture, be it for better of for worse.
