Good areas to live in Wellington?

Well, I'm finally in Wellington and flat hunting.

My top area is Johnsonville as it's a little removed from the city (and theoretically cheaper).

Lower Hutt is cheap, but something about it just seems too much like West Auckland. However I've really only seen Naenae/Waterloo so far so maybe other areas are nicer.

I'm also open to in the city, but have no clue what the good or bad areas are.

Any help will be much appreciated!

Congrats in making it to Wellie, James. Jodie lives in Johnsonville and loves it there. Hope you find somewhere to put down your roots soon. Good luck in your new city.

You've arrived then mate. What happened with the Aussie bird?

We're going Upper Hutt prbably, maybe kapiti (katipi?) coast, although there quire a way out of town it seems.

Me thinking of either Upper or Lower Hutt eventually or now maybe Johnsonville :icon_biggrin:

Yep, got here on Wednesday.

I must have posted about her somewhere. Hmm. Well, guess the secret is out. I met someone in Australia. I'll visit there in a few months, she'll visit here a bit later. Beyond that, not sure. And I want to spend at least 6 months in Wellington. I've been wanting to move here forever. Though Melbourne quite reminded me of Welly....just 10 times bigger.
