I'm having some problems with an Immigration company at the moment. Has anyone had problems with that same company and can give me some advice?

I understand the need and desire to get it right and to do what ever it takes. You really don't need it. There is a lot of expertise right here. Possibly more than a consultant might bring to the table.

You either have qualify or your don't. A consultant can help you qualify if you don't. Be honest and open about any issue in your paperwork. Don't try to hide them. This will make immigration think you are hiding something else.

Stay in control of the process yourself and know what is going on personally. You will be once removed if someone else handles it. It is not that a consultant or company is bad it is just hey aren't really needed. If you have a problem then maybe they can earn the extra expense. If you look good already then it is needed.

Cheers

Basically they collate all your documents together, but you still have to do all the background work that you would have to do if you were handling your own application.

There have been a lot of complaints about immigration consultants in the past but it looks like something is being done about it now.

NZ immigration advisers regulated
5:00AM Tuesday July 08, 2008

The Immigration Advisers Authority issued its first licence yesterday, marking the beginning of industry regulation and protection for the rights of migrants, a spokesman said.

By May 4, 2009, immigration advisers will need a licence in an initiative to stop "rogue operators destroying the financial and personal hopes of potential immigrants to New Zealand", authority registrar Barry Smedts said.

From here.
