COST OF MEDICALS AND CHEST X-RAYS

Ihave just booked medicals and x-rays for my family in respect of the PARTNERSHIP scheme.

X-rays per person =?67.50 :icon_cry:
Medical - Adult =?350.00, Child =?150.00 :icon_cry: :icon_cry:

Forms are self printed from NZIS web site in ADOBE pdf format and are 16 pages long :icon_sad:

For the faint-hearted, blood samples are also required :icon_eek:

Your medicals sound really over priced. I only paid ?150 adult and ?75 for the kids. Then ?10 for the blood test.

I was applying under skilled migrant. Does your type of visa require a different level of medical? If not then I would look around a little more for a better price.

They do seem to vary throughout the country and from practice to practice. Don't see why, as it should be a set price for everyone. Some people travel out of their area in order to get a better price.

Wow, thats expensive. I guess it must be because you live down south. Our for a family of 4 was +/- ?650 "all in". I can re-call the x-rays being a straight ?40. I would shop around a bit if you can.

our x rays were 70 each..
and the medicals for all four of us were 380..

so 520 all in seems very reasonable..

We lived in Hampshire and initially had trouble locating a centre that was on the list and would take us, so our case officer said it was ok to use our GP. His prices were way outfield so we begged and grovelled till a listed centre took us on. In actual fact, the GP is on the authorized list.

That is a significant change - but they will be the most expensive option. I got a strong feeling that GP's don't really want to do them.

i've said it before and I'll say it again..

my whole experience of the medical and xray thing was fantastic..

The staff at the hospital in glasgow and the health centre in Bonnyrigg couldn't have been nicer..(even though my results could have been better, fat git!! but thats not their fault)

They were fairly cheap too from what everyone else is saying..

If you live in the central belt of scotland I can't recommend them enough..
