What you booked flights for march already? I assume that wife starts in March?

Jeez that's a big ask on the house!!! Is it special. Is it on the market yet?
Can you still go if you don't sell, or are you relying on the profit (assumed) from the house for fundage?

Great news tho. Isn't Masterton in Christchurch?

not got anything sorted yet stevey..

house should be in the market in january..
Masterton is just north of Wellington..
    about an hours train journey.

its going to be a stressful few months thats for sure..

house doesn't NEED to be sold.. but it would be a whole lot better if it was..
job offer includes a house for a month or two and some readies to get started..

it was an offer you just couldn;t refuse..

    so we didn't..

Anyone know when the next selection from the pool is?
I've had a look on NZIS and I can't see any mention of it..

Last one was on the 7th, so I'm assuming the next one should be around the 21st. Bit of a bugger that you'll have the xmas break after being selected!

I would recomend getting paperwork together now, especially the Police Check forms as these can take 6 weeks to process, and Scotland Yard really don't work very fast. You'll need to contact the Subject Access section at your county police headquarters to get the ball rolling. They send you form to complete. Each report costs ?10, and I would suggest you get at least three for your wife, as these will be needed by NZIS, the Nursing Council, and her employer in Masterton.

Also you'll need substantial evidence of your wife's working history, proving she has worked for all of the years she claims. Thankfully, we had saved quite a bit of info. We had 4 years payslips and a pension contribution statement going all the way back to 1987. You really will need that much proof.

NZIS also ask for evidence that you have been in a stable married relationship for at least the last twelve months when applying. Joint bank account statements, council tax bills etc are good enough.

Finally, also get the ball rolling on the Nursing Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand. You can download the overseas application forms from their website. This does take a long while and they are sticklers for following procedure, and they don't understand the meaning of the word 'urgent'!

Most of the above applies to all applications, so I have replied in the forum and not by PM.

Congrats, Nattydread. It's all happening at last (or about to be). I'm getting panicky just thinking about everything that you've got to do, but others have done it before you, so I hope it'll all go smoothly for you.

Enjoy your Christmas knowing that, soon after, you'll be on your way to a whole new and better life. Good luck!
