Fantastic Day!!!!!!!
Well what a day. Ian was offered a job on Thursday so we went down to immigration armed with all application forms and offer of employment and asked to speak with immigration officer. We were told we would have to wait two hours, oh well we made ourselves comfortable. Just as well, 5 hours later we were called in. 5 minutes and Ian had his 2 year work permit! Yipee, the officer was from Yorkshire he was lovely and really helpful and told us to get our EOI in ASAP. We are so happy that we are bouncing of the walls. :026:
Without this forum we wouldn't have made the move, thank you Taffy and Welshgirl and everyone else for all the advice. If we hadn't taken the plunge we wouldn't have met our fab kiwi neighbours, who put us in touch with the guy that Ian is going to work for. We have had a rollercoaster adventure since we arrived in September and a rollercoster of emotions too. We feel very very lucky.
There is always hope.
Sara

Great news, Sara. Hope this will help you settle down well. Having a job under the belt means you can get on with your lives now.

Fantastic Day!!!!!!!
when you get days checking mail for any replys let alone job offers in NZ it gives you a chance.
But, the way I look at it is we arrive next Aug/sept and just blast the area with our charm and personality and desire.
Just one reply to my application for a job with help.
But, I reckon our plan B is starting a business is the best option and it gives us time to work on it before booking our one way tickets to Dunedin.
go go go :icon_rolleyes:

Fantastic Day!!!!!!!
Thanks everyone, still bouncing of the walls! Feels very strange that 6 months ago we were selling the house, and not knowing where we would be living or if we would even like NZ. Just filling in EOI now so i'm sure we will have loads more questions Thought i would give everyone a brief view of what we have been up to for the last 3 months. So i'll put it in the coffee house.
