Default What does a strong NZ$ mean for prospective immigrants?

I wondered if anyone with a more economics orientated brain would be able to spell out what this means for people hoping to move to NZ?
I thought that whilst savings we bring over won't mean so much, wages earnt in NZ will in theory be higher relative to world economy. Are there any other implications from NZ strong economic growth?

I don't know ......but the word is out that the dollar can't continue as strong as it is and that it will weaken next year.................hence we're going to rent and change our money when it does (if we don't desperately need it before).

The bank of NZ do have accounts where you can leave your money as sterling until the day you choose to change it, but I think the interest rates are less than leaving it in England.........but the exchange rate might change again before the transaction from England happens. Swings and roundabouts I think.

Interest rates will also go upwards fairly soon, taking your mortgage interest over andabove the 8.8% average it is at the moment!

I'd guess that a strong NZdollar would increase the Kiwi buying power in the world, but have no idea how much it would improve costs of imported goods.
