Default thanks

Missed out on the show last week.

Its a slog trying to find information and make plans.
Ideally we would like to have our own business but have no experience apart from our current jobs held in the uk.
We just want ot get over there and earn a living and have looked at a b@b maybe or small business where we could employ a few local people.

i know what you mean..

my dream would be to go there and buy a small holding of some kind..
maybe grow some orgasmic fruit and veg and keep some animals..

but it's a risky old business moving to somewhere you've never been before anyway without adding those kinds of risks to it..

good luck to you anyway.. sorry I wasn't more help...

Default yes..

Life is a risk anyway.

We dont mind the risk and we are going but its deciding the best way to do it.
Its a beautiful country and you cannot blame them in a way for keeping the restrictions- but they have to lets us stay...
We are sending cv's off to compnaies and testing the water as I suppose we have nothing to lose.
Its the timeing of when we go as we nedd to do some touring in Thailand and Chine on route..
that really complicates things..
but in a way its fun

I;ve been looking at changing jbs and doing my own thing from learning to be a driving instructer ( they need them) to a tree surgeon to running our own leisure business.
we are not too fussed, as long as we get by and dont get asked to leave once there :icon_biggrin:

I await results with bated breath. You could well make your name in NZ with produce like that.[img:da65b69663]http://www.kolobok.wrg.ru/smiles/standart/whistle2.gif[/img:da65b69663]

Try looking through this link, clicking on the various highlighted items as you go. I haven't been through it yet, but hope that you can find some info on there.

Default more information to take in

thanks Mother Bear.
Quick look and it looks all very difficult to tak eover a business.
I suppose being a business manager and my wife Pa restricts us to opening up our own B&B or cafe.

Looks like me looking for a job is the best direction.

mmm A trip and chance is it looming

Without being resident, you couldnt take over a business if you wanted to run it yourself. For that you would need a Long Term Business Visa. if you just employed people to run it and didnt work on it yourself, then you could buy a business, but you wouldnt be allowed to stay in the country!

It's far better to gain residency first if you want to start a business. That way, if the business should fail, you wouldnt be kicked out as you would on a LTBV!!

We had looked into going out on a LTBV but the process of getting one looks a complete mare involving specifying the business producing a business plan having run your own comparable business for 2 years etc etc. So although hubby is self employed over here he will have to become an employee again over there, at least until we have the requisite PR at which point you can do what you choose. The other thing with LTBV as Taffy pointed out is that your ability to remain resident in NZ is all linked to the success of the business.
Good luck with whatever path you choose to take.
