Default ELECTRIC'S !

Can someone tell us if you can use UK electrical goods in NZ - kettles, irons, toaster etc. Will our TV work if plumbed through NZ video? Also are these things as cheap to buy in NZ as the uk? (we realise we will have to change the plugs, but is that all?).

Most appliances will work with a plug change, but unless you have a super-sonic TV you can live with out, ditch it and buy new in NZ as most TV's require adjustment to work in NZ. There's huge posts about this topic dotted around the forum, have a search about and you'll find the answer to pretty much every electrical item you can think of!

Default ELECTRIC'S !

Hi

We didn;t take anything, and I'm glad we didn;t.

A little shopping around, and we found a lot (!) of things very cheap, in sales etc. ie:
Sony DVD Recorder - $420.00 (UK Price 279)
Panasonic Bread Maker - $190 (UK 95)
Breville Stainless Kettle - $49 (UK 39)
32" LCD Television - $1699 (UK 900 ish?)

Although I wasn;t allowed to buy the last one by my wife. There may be the odd thing thats more expensive, but at least all the new stuff was warrantied etc.

Haven't bought yet, but some Kitchen things look a bit on the dear side - ie Fridges, washers etc.

Hope this is of use!
