Default Quarter of all pregnancies end in abortion?

    http://www.stats.govt.nz/popn-monito...rs/default.htm

    56,134 births
    18,511 abortions

    74,645 total pregnancies

18,511/74,645=24.8% of all pregnancies end in abortion

Just saw that and it freaked me out. Would anyone know how that compares with other countries?

Maybe it's around average, but it seems pretty high at first glance.

Couldn't find anything that said it explicitly. One site said "suggested in first 3 months" but that's "suggested"

Interesting discussion on it - http://www.kiwiblog.co.nz/archives/010765.html

    Hmmm. From the same stats.govt.nz
[list:9578c04a96]There is no upper limit to when an abortion can be carried out in New Zealand, but the grounds are stricter when the gestation of the pregnancy is more than 20 weeks.[/list:u:9578c04a96]

That guy has stats of tons of stuff. His views are a bit wacky (humble opinions section) but the stats are there, and from seeing one or two of the countries on various sites with the same stats, they seem to be pretty accurate.

I'm off to bed. :icon_cool: May I suggest terrorizing google with queries Mr. Stevey B Laden?
