    We British call these sandles "flip flops". What do the Kiwi's call them? Apparently it's a question in a competition my friend is entering ::):

    We Kiwis call them 'Jandals' - Aussies I believe call them 'thongs' :icon_eek: icon_exclaim.gif

    Japanese Sandals = Jandals

    They used to call them Flip Flops, but from what I gather Jandals took over about 20 years ago.

    We call them Flip Flops in the US......were not different from the world in EVERY way (just most) :icon_wink:

    I also remember that when I was little, we called them thongs. Now that's the underwear which from the back reminds me of a credit card swipe.
