Thats probably a preference of the doctor, so medicals dont get tampered with. Our doctor gave them to us to submit, but then we are in NZ where people still know the meaning of trust!

Our doc gave the medical certs back to us, and the radiologist gave us our X-rays. They relied on us to know what the procedures were.

If your doc does forward the certs, you might want to give him/her your ITA number (or whatever it's called), just to be sure they go in the right file.

do you have to have your xrays done before you have your medicals?

We had to have our medicals, then get referred for an x-ray. Our doc had the x-ray result back after that, but only for our records.

We had our x rays yesterday and they will get sent to the doctors (who now tell me they will give me them back to send off myself) and our medicals today. It took us two months to get our medicals which is rather a long time if you are on a tight deadline.

When in the Doctors he told me to get undressed down to my Boxers and lie on the couch. He then told me it was just a little prick.......
I thought the cheeky bas*ard and then he stuck a needle in my arm and it all became aparent :icon_wink:

I must say I have mixed feelings about these medicals. Having to pay all that money we really would have liked to have known whether we were ailing from any other illness other than TB and syphilis. But then again it does make it easier to pass this emigration hurdle.

Have just seen Glenda's comments on medicals. I think they may have changed recently. Steve and I will be having our medicals in 2wks time and ?100 each is just for blood tests for many things including hepititus, HIV, blood count, liver function plus a couple more I can't remember. Including x-rays our bill for 2 adults, 2 children under 11 will be ?630. Do they do anything like this when people are coming into the UK??
