Default Medical check up

Hi everybody ,

I've got a general question.

What is on it , that there will be an new Medical check from November 2005 ?

What's on it , that visitors they want to stay one year and more must have the new medical check?

I want to go to NZ in April 2006 on Visiter Visa , look for a job ( offer) and apply for a work permit .
Is there a possibility to get the medical check up done in NZ ?

Can I have done the medical check up e.g. in Thailand?
Does anybody know about this costs in NZ ?

Would be great to hear from you

Wolfgang

Hi,

Yes, it's possible to have a medical done in NZ, although I do not know what the costs of the new medicals will be. Currently it varies between doctors at around $100 - $150 for medical and about $100 for your x-rays.

It's possible to get them done in Thailand, but you can only use doctors that have been approved by NZIS.

As yet, I also do not know what will be contained in the new medical examinations, so we'll have to keep a look out for anything on it!

I thought the medicals only lasted for 3 months and the police certificates for 6 months. Has it changed recently?

Hi Taffy,

do you have any idea where I can take my medical Check up?
Is there any list of doctors to find ?

I'd like to stay after arriving in Christchurch or Nelson.
