Their email is:multiserve.co.nz and then go into recruitment. It tells you a bit about them.

My contact has just left for pastures new but if you email a general to them on recruit@multiserve.co.nz you should find someone to help.

Hi, Fisheress.

Your response about teachers' registration with nzqa is very informative. Thanks a lot.

I wonder whether there are Filipino teachers who have had gone through the process. Please, share us your experiences... documents you needed to submit, etc.

Thanks.

Just a message about Multiserve...............since jobs for Feb started to appear, they have been as useful as a chocolate teapot. I now have a permanent teaching job for Feb..but found it myself!!!!

Education Gazette..................applied for 12 jobs.
Flew out for 2 weeks at end of Oct.........visited schools I applied to ..........got 3 interviews and had 3 jobs to choose from.

Got home last week and was offered 2 more interviews whilst I was travelling back.

Multiserve played no part in this............and I still waiting for them to email me back to tell me whether to go it alone or not

Good Luck

Fisheress

Thanks for the info about Multiserve - thought it might be just as easy to "go it alone".

Glad you have a job :041:

I [i:855616269f]think[/i:855616269f] I now have all the info I need to send off my stuff to NZQA and the Teacher Agency. Thought I'd get the hurdle of being accredited out of the way early.....

If you hear of any good schools that want a chemist....... :icon_lol:

[b:f6fcdb41e7]Kindergarten teachers to strike[/b:f6fcdb41e7]
02 December 2005

Hundreds of kindergarten teachers will walk off the job next Thursday in protest at proposals they say will mean an end to term breaks for teachers, increase their contact time with children and under-pay senior teachers.

The 1650 teachers, who are members of the New Zealand Educational Institute Te Riu Roa (NZEI) union, voted to strike at a series of two-hour stopwork meetings throughout the country this week.

The strike follows a breakdown in the negotiations that began in August between NZEI, the Ministry of Education, New Zealand Kindergartens Incorporated and the New Zealand Federation of Free Kindergartens for a collective agreement covering the teachers.

"This is just the third time that kindergarten teachers have taken national strike action in 121 years, which shows the seriousness of the situation," NZEI national president Colin Tarr said.

"Not having term breaks and increasing contact hours to unsustainable levels will cause kindergarten teachers to burn out. This means the quality of education they provide to children will inevitably suffer."

The proposal to increase contact time to a maximum of 35 hours a week would be unworkable, he said, as it would not leave teachers with enough time for children's work learning programmes, working with children's families, professional development or administration.

[b:f1e03bdf27]National looks to British childcare laws [/b:f1e03bdf27]

28.12.05 1.00pm

National plans to look at new laws in Britain that give schools greater powers to deal with out-of-control children. So-called control orders put pressure on parents to do more to look after their kids, including imposing curfews.

Parents who do not toe the line could be fined or even sent to jail. National law and order spokesman Simon Power says it is something that is worth looking at. He says early intervention is an important tool in the fight against crime.
