very interesting link

If you zoom in on the Banks Peninsular, there does appear to be a third crater around the Little River Area

Sorry, Craig, but I don't know you well enough for that :112:

Netchicken, the references you pull up don't indicate that Wellington as a whole, or even major portion are doomed. The figures from the Ian R. Brown Associates et al. report show small areas susceptable to liquefaction, and even less land subject to slope failure. And the Murashev et al. report is discussing geotechnical issues which need to be addressed when building on reclaimed land. All very sensible stuff, but no doom and gloom warnings about the city sliding into the ocean. Great reading, though, and a good source of job references. Thanks ::):

Apologies to Ruby for hijacking her query for so long. Am stopping now.

[quote="moggy"][quote:84af60fda4="SteveyC"]But People from a drastic Eq-free zone such as the UK, [/quote:84af60fda4]

Erm on average we have an earthquake in the UK every 4 days

I KNEW someone was gonna say something like that hehe. That's why I said a 'drastic' eartquake free zone meaning, of course we all have tremors but none that wreck the place. A few tiles falling off roofs and back before I was born when a church steeple fell off (shock horror).

Isn't google great!! :icon_idea:

Don't you remember a couple of years back when there was the Dudley earthquake where buildings were demolished?

(OK, may I am mixing that up with the Dudley regeneration scheme lol)
