So if you go for a walk through the fields in NZ and happen to spark up a fag or pipe, you stand a good chance of blowing your face off as the left over gas ignites [smiley=icon_lol.gif]

Or if petrol forecourts are anything to go by, mobile phones would be a no no also. Quality!!! [smiley=icon_mrgreen.gif]

And if on your travels you see a strange man rolling cows over and chuckling... tell Glen to pack it in!

It just won?t go away! Not NZ this time but no doubt the principal is just the same.

For newer members you need to read back through an item in The Coffee House - Time to flee freezing Britain back in June, so you get the full picture.

From our local freebie paper this last week.

?It?s not automobiles and huge factories alone that pollute the earth. Even an animal as non-threatening as a gentle cud-chewing cow could be undermining the future of our planet, say scientists. According to a report by the National Geographic, dairy herds in the San Joaquin Valley, California, are the latest animals to be branded an environmental health risk on account of their flatulent behaviour after government regulators identified dairy cows as the main source of smog-forming pollutants in the region.

According to the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District, a dairy cow emits almost 20 pounds of smog-forming gases known as volatile organic compounds. This figure is supposedly more than what normal cars emit.

The San Joaquin Valley houses a thriving dairy industry that includes nearly 2.5mn cattle. With the expected arrival of 400,000 additional cows it seems like the district will have to deal with an increase in smog levels.?

Perhaps they should hook up little methane collectors to the cows' exhausts and use it to generate power!
