I know they're pretty laid back but I assume Kiwis still go to work in shirt and tie etc. What about interviews are they in similar format to over here or are they more informal?
Random thought I know but I hate having to lug around all my collars and ties, it'll be weird packing them alongside my shorts and Ts in the suitcase.

I think that you will find naturism pretty widespread, what with the nicer weather and all that. I would just leave the clothes at home

Usually we wear grass skirts and animal skins :icon_biggrin:

I can honestly say I have never encountered a seperate collar thingiee, and only has 1 moth eaten tie that I havn't worn in decades.

It can't hurt to bring it, afterall if you get a job as a waiter or underaker you may need it :icon_biggrin:

It depends on your work I suppose.

My boss told me that they have a very strict "No shirt and tie" policy! And to be honest, you very rarely see people wearing ties, with the exception of some customer facing staff, such as bank clerks, and some corporate companies (usually the ones owned by foreign companies!).

The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one.

Are you serious!!! Ahh that would be bliss I despise shirt and tie. I work in Marketing so it's not custoer facing but has the potential to corporate-like hmmm.

I wasn't suggesting I have seperate Collars, I just meant shirts and ties you sarchy watsits hehe.

Grrrr I'm so annoyed I'm not there now, this minute.

I think it depends on where you are. You see quite a lot of suits walking round the city here in Welly, (and in Auckland too from what I can remember from our time there), although Daz's new boss has told him that it's casuals all the way when he starts his new job in a few weeks time. He can't wait, cos he's been wearing shirt and ties to work for the last 8 months! :icon_lol:
