Default Wellington: Top rated in quality of life report in NZ?

Taffy,

thanks for making it clear :icon_idea: . I love outdoors and hate rain and I am not a fan of pollution either.

My current employer (hopefully, my employer in NZ as well) has the offices in Auckland only , therefore I'll try to start up in there and see where it goes from there.

Anyway, I like the idea of the big city with sea all around, cosmopolitan environment with easy-to-get countryside for cycling and hiking and climbing :055: ( I'll try to get over the cons :icon_cry: you mentioned, don't make it hard by mentioning rain and pollution again, please ::):

I don't have a chip on my shoulder, I just like to have a good rant every now and then. Having grown up in the North Island I am well aware of the stereotypes of each city and the attitudes held by the populace.

[quote:f8e14baea2="netchicken"]Well Duh!
As the so called quality of life report was written by the govt in wellington of course they are BIASED.

Alternativly people in Auckland are told that their over priced, over polluted, rainy, traffic jammed city is actually the place to live and not to bother about the rest of the country. It panders to the innate egotism of Aucklanders and Wellingtonians that keeps them trapped in their cities and away from the rest of the country, which suits us all fine :)[/quote:f8e14baea2]

Sounds like a classic JAPA that's mad at the JAFA's to me. Just kidding!!! :icon_wink:

[quote:f8e14baea2="taffy"]I'd rather live there than where we were back in Wales, but I still love Wales as a country![/quote:f8e14baea2]

Wales is a country? :icon_eek: icon_exclaim.gif

JUST KIDDING! Besides, I'm an American. We don't care about anything outside our border. Hmm, sounds strangely familiar to Aucklanders in regards to the rest of NZ. Guess were all just a bunch of "JAF[b:f8e14baea2]A[/b:f8e14baea2]'s"

So if your American living in Auckland does that make you a JAFAA? (for the record I can't wait to get out of Mordor...I mean Auckland)

Default AKL vs WEL

OK guys, it seems I stirred up a discussion!. Well, in any case, it all depends on where I get a job. The thing is that the NZIS grants an extra 10 points to those who get a job offer outside the Auckland region! I am aware, though, that most jobs in NZ are based in Auckland, and I've heard to Auckland tends to get boring as compared to Wellington... Thanks anyhow... :icon_lol:
