...we have our residency!! woo hoo!! :026: :026: :038:

We've been here nearly a year (in 2 weeks time), and we heard on Friday that we had approval in principle, so off I marched down to the immigration office this morning with passports in hand to get the long-awaited stamps - yay! :023:

It's such a great feeling - all the stress, worries and problems that we had seem to have been worth it, and the lifestyle that we have loved for the last year can now be ours forever - yay! I can't tell you how happy we are to know that.

Good luck with everyone in the same boat - whatever stage of the application you're at. It's worth the hassle and problems that are sent to test us along the way - it will all work out right in the end. I'm a great believer in fate and if it's meant to be, then it will happen one way or another.

Anyway, I'm gonna stop gushing for now (sorry - still cant quite believe it!), so good luck to everyone and if anyone wants any info on Welly or anything else, give me a shout.

Good Luck!

Jodie

I'm so jealous! I'd love to be in Wellington right now instead of going off to uni to study for 3 years.

Best of luck though. Have a great life in NZ.

Tottefan.

Isn't it funny. There's you in NZ having taken all this time to get PR, and us still stuck in the UK with PR !

I bet it's nice to know you have the security of being able to stay.

Cheers
Steve

Thanks for the congrats everyone - we still can't quite believe it! Been walking round with big smiles on our faces all week! Now we know we're staying, we're gonna get our few boxes of stuff shipped over (at last!) and I'm dragging Daz round shopping for furniture this weekend, much to his horror! :icon_lol: We move into our new rental this weekend so everything seems to be coming together nicely. We'll probably start looking for somewhere to buy early next year - we'll see how it goes.

If anyone's in Welly (or passing through) and wants to chink my glass in celebration, let me know!

And yeah, Taffy and Welshgirl, we must try and meet up at some point after all this time - must be about 2 years now hasn't it we've been chatting on here? Would be great to meet up and have that BBQ we talked about all that time ago!

Anyway, best be off for now.

Cheers everyone! :icon_cool:
