North Island

Let me clarify that in this seperate post!!!
Scotland AND Ireland are absolutely breathtaking but for us, on the welsh border we see Wales as more local, if we go to Scotland and Ireland it's much more of a trek. Barring the obvious scarrs to the landscape of course, Glasgow/Newport/Brum/Belfast.

Ah you see not true craig. If Glasow based peeps are on here than there trying to get away, in which case they know its a hole hehe. I lived in Brum for 5 years but can still acknowledge it's just all wrong as a place!! hehe

Back to beaches, if only for a moment... There are a variety of lovely beach types on both islands. Personally I prefer shingle, ones with tidepools or craggy bluffs. I'm a beachcomber & wildlife watcher, not a sunbather or dune buggy driver. Broad expanses of sand are boring to me, and seem to host sandflies. But we did sample a variety, including sunbather heavens. Thank goodness the ocean water in NZ is warmer than on the US West Coast!
