Default Crime in NZ
I know NZ must have crime but I wondered how much. I've been told by my cousin who lives there that it is a much safer place than the UK. I just wondered what everyone else thought.

You should try a search of the forums. There is an excellent thread somewhere detailing a lot of the different crimes and areas etc and I seem to remember a link to a government site that had a few reports on various types of crimes..

I think the upshot was Yes, a much safer country than the UK,

The thing is the reporting of crime. In NZ the news programs focus on National Stories whereas here we are bombared with the news from every corner of the globe and the "..and finally" story is now generally the bit that a UK story gets a mention...

like I say though,, there is a great thread somewhere on this site on the subject..

Try www.stats.govt.nz and enter "crime" into the search engine. They've got all kinds of other statistics for us data freaks.
