I wondered whether anyone on here lives in Christchurch. If yes, what do you think of it? Is it a good place to live etc? Is it comparable to say Oxford and Cambridge in atmosphere, style etc?

I'd be grateful for any comments as I'm seriously thinking of settling in Christchurch.

Having only visited there, I would say other than the punts on the river it is nothing like either in the slightest

Well I live there, but as I have never been to Oxford or Cambridge (in England that is, I have been to their namesakes in NZ) I just have to make an unbiased comment of "its far better mate".

It's loads better cos its not full of snotty students who think they've been given the keys to the universe, just because they study at Oxford or Cambridge. :icon_biggrin:

The thing that struck me the most about it was the number of Japanese business and people that were there. It was something I hadn't expected.
