Just a quick to check to make sure I haven't got this wrong.....

If you are a UK resident and are asked to send you ITA to London, the application fee is ?520 or $1360.

If you are a UK resident and are asked to return the ITA to an office in NZ, the application fee is $660 (or ?250).

We're in NZ and we've just submitted our application - dropped it into NZIS and it was $660.

A friend of mine submitted her application whilst still in Britain and I believe she did say she paid around the ?500 mark.....

Can't say I can see a reason for the heftier charges in the UK :icon_confused:

I think the latest example of rip off Britain is their new plans about not charging tax on petrol, but charging up to 1.34 GBP PER MILE!! How scandalous is that!!!

I hadn't heard that one..

I'm sure the hauliers will be chuffed to bits with that idea..
It makes me laugh when I read stories in the NZ Herald about petrol prices soaring..

It's about 45p a litre isn't it...?

My dad is in the haulage business and has had a real bad time over the last few years due to fuel prices and guess what??? Once we're over in NZ with my brother, he's selling the business and he and my mum are coming too!!!!!!! Fantastic! So T Blair has brought about some good at last!

I nearly choked on my Frosties when I read the ?1.34 per mile thing this morning! My nearest petrol station is eight miles away - it will cost me ?21.44 for a round trip to fill up.

Guess there'll be no more nipping out for a late night choccie bar for the missus.

Reckon I'll have to go my push-bike for my sunday paper! :icon_eek: icon_exclaim.gif

Back to my original thread....

Some friends of mine sent their ITA back last week - to Dunedin. I'm pleased they got to apply at such a discounted rate, but can't understand why there is such a massive difference. I'd raise it with the NZIS, but I'm still waiting for a decision on my PR........

I expect its all cost related. It costs a lot more to have a building in London that anywhere in NZ. Staff on 30,000 in the uk compared to $30,000 in NZ (i dont know what they are actually paid, its just an example!)

So, it costs a lot more to have your application processed by NZIS in London, so the fee is higher.

My guess anyway!!

But...............

You can send you application to a NZ office instead of London but the fees are the same :icon_eek: icon_exclaim.gif .
