Hi Nicola,

Welcome to the forum! ::):
Our thoughts are much the same as yours about living in NZ - we wouldn't choose to live anywhere else! We're originally from Wales and we've been in NZ since November last year! :icon_biggrin:
We started off in Tauranga but we've now moved to Hamilton, so unfortunately we're not close enough to get together for coffee! :icon_wink:
Keep in touch though and keep posting - this is a great place to find friends - you might want to think about coming to our MoveToNZ Christmas party - see other thread!
All the best

Hi Nicola,

We are off to Kerikeri next month. Haven't been there myself for 20 years but hubby likes it after spending five days looking around there ... and I guess that is half the battle. :icon_lol:

My kids range from 5 to 13 and I guess Whangarei will be our nearest city. Incidentally, I know it should be pronounced 'Fongeray' but do the locals pronounce it that way? Or just in formal or Maori company? We always called it 'Wongeray' when growing up in Auckland, but that was probably before Maori culture took off (ouch, showing my age!).

Glad to hear you like Northland ... makes us feel hopeful.

Bit of a side note i noticed you live in essex just wondering where, we used to live in sudbury, which is on the suffolk/essex porder about 15miles from colchester.

Hi Nichola

We have been over in NZ for 5 weeks now and also lived in your neck of the woods. We are from West Wickham, just over the Cambridgeshire boarder, near Haverhill. We always say we are from Cambridge (well we worked there) and guess where we had settled in NZ, if only temporarily...yes Cambridge. Small world ain't it. Glenda will know us from another forum under the name acisman.

Hi Nicola, Pam and Dave,

We live just outside Saffron Walden! Have often been to Sudbury as we lived in Stambourne, south of Haverhill for a couple of years.

It certainly is a small world. :icon_biggrin:

Hi Glenda

Not long now before you return to NZ if my memory is correct. How is Saffron Walden? Not somewhere we visited that often, other than Audley End.

Weather here is still great and I bet you can't wait to be on your way. It is most certainly the best move we every made and I hope you settle in well in the Bay of Islands ??

Hi Pam and Dave,

Four weeks today we will be waving goodbye to our furniture. :icon_biggrin:

Read your posts on Cambridge and Morrinsville and pleased to hear things are working out. We were tempted to go that way ourselves, but have opted for a touristy area to make our income.

Saffron Walden gets busier by the day. There always seem to be roadworks and queues of traffic at rush hour. It can take me 20 minutes to travel two miles. One day they will build a bypass, probably going through our garden. Thankfully, we will not be here to see it. :icon_biggrin:

Your weather will no doubt change - probably as we touch down. :icon_lol: It's going to be 27 degrees here today! :004:
