Default have job offer but helllllp!

I have been offered a job by an NZ organisation who will help me to get a work visa (think they are going to sponser me in). But where does that leave my husband and children, obviously hubby wants to work in NZ (possibly start his own business) and kids need schools. How can we acheive all of that?
Plus if I enter on a work visa how can I then get residency and how long am I obliged to stay with the firm that sponser me?
Seems like a really good opportunity but has left us a bit baffled as we weren't expecting to be going down this particular route. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

If you get a work permit, your OH is entitled to a partners work permit whether he has a job or not.

The kids will have to get student permits.

On a work permit, you can only work for that one employer, else you have to re-apply for a permit (or variations on your existing one). You can apply for residency at any point thereafter. Just bung in your EOI!
