Qualifications

Could someone please shed some light. I have a BTEC gained at college in 'Working in Organisations'. I have been working in the Freight Forwarding industry for 19 years, exporting goods worldwide. I am also currently studying an IT course.
My question is would I be able to gain residency in NZ or just a work permit? I have been reading books on emigating, but just getting a little confused.
