Default returning to uk while on a temporary work permit visa?
Hello everyone, this is my first time on the forum so I hope my questions don't seem daft. :icon_confused: We are at the start of the long journey and enquiry into a new life in New Zealand. We think we have to go down the working towards residency route as we are short on the points without a job offer. Ian works in telecommunications and I would like to continue and hopefully complete my degree while in New Zealand. The question is does anyone know if you can leave New Zealand while on a work permit/visa in the first 6-12 months of been there? It's just my cousins wedding is next year and if we are lucky enough to get there before then can we leave to come back to uk for celebration and then return to nz? Gosh what a lot of waffle, :smiley11: sorry!

Yes, you can leave. You need to apply for a multiple entry visa, and you'll be sorted :icon_biggrin:
