Default Confused Sorry a few more questions!

Hello,

We want to send an EOI form, we have enough points but do not have a job offer.

We are going to NZ next month on holiday :041: and wondered if it would be better to see some employment agencies while we are there. Then if we managed to get a job offer we would have more points. Would this mean a better chance of selection??

Also I can't imagine getting a job and then the company waiting for 6 months for us to move over?

Thanks

Hi,

I would strongly recommend that, if you have 100pts or more at the moment, you should lodge an EOI NOW. There is talk of the points threshold being increased and you have nothing to lose in lodging now, whereas, if you secure a job offer at any stage of the process, you simply fax a copy to NZIS and they will increase your points tally by 50 at that stage.

If in any doubt whatsoever, lodge it! You could miss the boat if the points increase.

Hi
It would undoubtely strengthen your case with a job offer, as a person on 100 with a job offer, will often be selected ahead of someone on 150 without. The 6 months thing would be an issue tho, I think, but it's always worth registering with some employment agencies, even if its onle a way of keeping your finger on the pulse so to speak.
Have a good holiday :icon_cool:

Thanks both of you for your reply.

I spoke to an immigration consultant last week and he said it was rumoured that the points may go down! :icon_confused:

I think we will be submitting it in any case this week and see what happens. Fingers crossed. :icon_wink:

5 Weeks and counting! :041:
