COULD ANYONE TELL US IF WE COULD TAKE OUR TV WITH US OR PURCHASE A NEW ONE HERE PRIOR TO LEAVING AS THEY APPEAR TO BE RATHER EXPENSIVE OVER THERE. DO THEY HAVE DIDITAL TV OR IS IT PLANNED FOR THE FUTURE?

    Hi,
TV's aren't too expensive here, but your TV wont work here anyway as its a different signal system! (Unless you have it modified!)

Digital TV is available in the form of SKY TV, starting at about $43 a month for the basic package. http://www.sky.co.nz

Congrats on the PR approval :icon_biggrin:

We had planned to take over two portable tvs - one for the kids' playstation, and the other for our UK video/dvd players to see our UK videos and dvds. I understand this is the only use your UK tv can have in NZ unless it is multi-regional (have to look in the tv's instruction manual to find this out).

When we get to NZ we were going to buy a new tv, video player etc. for our main family room.

I'm no expert in all this ... so does anyone know if I could I have got it wrong?

I am pretty sure that if you took your video player, then it will work with any TV, so there would be no need to take one with you from the UK - same goes for DVDs
