Default What type of visa?

My husband and I are hopefully moving to NZ in 12/18 mnths time. Our plan is to lease the UK house and rent a restraunt/B&B until residency has been approved with a view to buying a place eventually. However, I have a brother l :icon_rolleyes: iving in NZ who has full residency status. I appreciate you are as well doing immigration yourself but what visa should we apply on. My husband has run a very successful restraunt and I have a clerical background so should be sweet with the experience, it appears a long term business visa is the way to go although very complicated. All comments would be appreciated.
the other "problem" is that we also have 7 year old son therefore we need an area(preferably North Island) which has both good schools and tourism, again all comments most welcome.

Hi,
If you want to run your own business straight off the bat, you have no choice but to go with the LTBV. If you want to take the easier route, then you will need to get a skilled job and go down the Skilled Migrant route. You can start a business after residency has been granted, and you have spent at least 3 months in the job you took.

Thanks Taffy

The LTBV looks like the route we will take and after reviewing the forms looks like we can come up with all they require. Do you know how long you have before you have to enter NZ after the visa has been granted? ie if we applied for EOI at present then for visa and it was granted say October 2005, or plan is not to move to NZ til Sept 06, but we may visit before then.

Thanks again, and I am sure I will come up with a hundred other dumb questions!!

B.

As with all visas granted, you have 12 months to enter New Zealand.

And dont worry about posting hundreds of questions, no question is a dumb question when it comes to moving abroad!
