Default Working Holiday Visa

Hello again
Thinking of taking the back door route into at least a job in New Zealand by getting a WHV (I'm sure you said you were on one Taffy). However I was worried if I have to lie about my Partner and Children if they only come on a visitors visa (I mean say we're seperated or something).
Also I'm worried about changing that into an EOI or Work Visa, as it states on the website to be elligable for a WHV you must only plan to be on Holiday as your primary purpose of applying for WHV.
It must be natural for people to fall in love with their country after being there for 12 months.
What do you think. It's so tricky as I have no qualification, just experience and score 105 on SMC test with skilled employment offer. So really I need a firm Job Offer or ideally a job, to springboard my Application from.

Your primary reason must be to holiday, yes. But that doesnt stop you getting a job, and then progressing through the visa ranks.

There is no reason for you to lie about your partner and children. They are perfectly entitled to accompany you on holiday visas.

I'm currently just starting the transition between WHV and a work permit, so I'll let you know a bit more about transferring when its all done. I spoke to immigration about this, and they said that anyone on a WHV is entitled to change their visa to a work permit at any point during their stay.

Panic not, my friend!

Default Working Holiday Visa

Hi Steveyc & Taffy,

I have very similar plans with WHV as Stevey. I would like to change my WHV to Skilled Work talent visa under Work for Residence category - uffffff I somehow figured out that this should be the best as I am market research professional with 4 ys. experience and MBA degree. I am not very sure if that can work out. What do you think? Would you rather try temporary work visa? Is Work for residence hader to get than temporary work visa? Thanks for ideas.
How did your WHV change to Work visa go?

Cheers
Marcela
