We are going out for a short holiday very soon - hopefully flying the 8th April. We are going hire a camper van and tour the South Island Christchurch, down the coast to Dunedin, accross to Queenstown and up the coast to West port and accross via Hamner springs and back to Christchurch.

What is the weather likely to be like at this time of year as we are trying to decide what to pack and what are the night time temperatures likely to be.

Ohhh, tough call! At the moment the weather is still quite nice, although Greymouth suffered a bad tornado recently. Although it didnt last too long, it still caused a mighty bit of damage.

You'd better pack a bit of warm and a bit of cold weather gear!

Yeah South Island could be getting a tad nippier and wetter now Autumns set in, I suggest Layers you won't need a fur coat or anything just a Kagaul (how do you spell that???) mac thingy, but definitely some T-Shirts too as it can still be quite warm on Sunnier Days. You might even have Shorts and Vests weather as my cousin did when they visited in April 3 years ago. Bit of everything I reckon.
