can i change from residence to work permit application ??

hi i forgot to add to earlier posting, if by some terrible bad luck i dont get residency and my ita is not succesful due to falling below 100 points because i can only prove six and not minimum eight years related work experience required for points,even though as a hairdresser ive worked from home and can prove this, just not with any tax returns!! can i then change my application to work permit and apply for residency from within, but if i have to do this can they use my current application and do it before fourth of april! does anyone have any solutions to my barrage of questions, i have a permanant job offer in busy aukland salon and we have enough money to support us and family

If you are declined, there should be no reason why you couldnt get a work permit, and re-apply once you have the necassary experience. Also, something to think about, if your husband also has an offer of skilled employment, this is also worth points.

Did you have a job as a hairdresser prior to being self employed? Could be a little more proof for you!

taffy, thanks for reply, ive been working as a hairdresser for 16 years but if co digs will only find tax for about six as i have worked from home since, my old emloyer gave me an official letter stating eight years but really for the last two i was part time and had a child in the timeframe.i supplied a letter from my product supplier stating that ive been supplied with products since 98 to facilitate my home hair business, my co knows ive no tax proof of this but still told me to send it on, the only glitch at this point is if she gets sticky on the eight years part, as i would then fall from grace with under 100 points!!all the rest of my application is in good order, so taffy what do you reckon, do you think we may be passed?my husband has no job offer as hed have to be at home for first few weeks to collect our three children and do all our settling stuff, he will then go and get a job, he has no formal qualifications but has worked in the electronics industry as a production supervisor for over 15 years and can supply a good cv with v good references when the time comes , so he is also employable. we also have enough money and are not wearing rose tinted glasses about the whole move. we cant wait to get there,and meet new people etc.thanks for reading all this, i hope you may be able to help, you seem to be a library of info on all things immigration and nz!! bye from ireland and la le padraig........happy st patricks day........do you think id have heard by now if it was a no, i sent my final bits of paper work via dhl and co recieved them last thurs morning,oh the stress of it all!
