VISA Help

Hi
I have been offered a job as 'Worship Leader' in a church in Auckland. My wife an I plan to move in June, so have very little time. I am looking at applying for VISAS on the NZ immigration site, but i just can't get my head around what sort of VISA i/we need. The contract is initially for 2 years, so need more than just a holiday VISA, and will be paid a full NZ wage. I am very confused - i don't have a degree, so will that affect me even though i have a solid job offer. I need help!!

Hi Paul what church are you from in Sheffield? Did you do Spring Harvest a couple of years back? Youshould be able to get in on a work visa as a religious leader/missionary, especially if you say your from a specific denomination, there's a bit about it on the immigration.govt.nz site.

Yes I played at Spring Harvest Skegness in 2002/3 in the young adults event. I did some leading the second year - were you there?
I'm from St Thomas Church in Sheffield. I wondered if there was some sort of missionary VISA, but just haven't found it yet!!!

Ahh thought you might be from St Thomas Church, but I went to Minehead.
Yeah go to the immigration service's site and look up work visa and then look at the quick check, I'm sure the second box down mentions religious leader from a specific denomination. Thought about trying to wangle something myself through the Baptists Union (also a musician) haven't looked into it with much depth yet tho.
