All depends how much of the book they threw at him! If was something like being fined for not having a valid tax disc and speeding, or whether it was tax fraud for using a disc from another car.

If it was the first, it shouldnt affect your application, if it was the latter... phone call to NZIS is required (although probably still not serious enough for them to say no, but thats just a guess)!!

NZIS only ask for any criminal record for the past 10 years, so if its longer than that then I wouldnt worry!

Hmm, maybe they've updated it! Used to quite clearly say 'within the last 10 years' on the form :icon_confused:

Perhaps they are tightening up! I would seriously recommend calling NZIS, they will put your mind at rest for you.
