selection of occupation

Hi i want to check with u all ,my occupation is Production engineering Technician Mechanical,have diploma in mechanical engineering,working for Phamaceutical company in Engineering and maintenance Department
i can not find occupation by this name onEOI but i got few matching jobs like mechanical fitter,plant mechanic,mechanical engineering technician.can i select any one of the occupation as all require the same qualification.please advice me.thanks

Well, luckily I have an EOI on the NZIS system just for testing out things like this, and my EOI saved locally.

It would help if you specified the section you were having trouble with.
Are you talking about section G1 ?

The trouble is the EOI form looks different to the one I used.

When I did it, I just typed in what I thought was a brief description.

I think u misunderstood my question sorry, i want to check under occupation title while filling my EOI online i had filled mechanical fitter,
but my Job title is Production Engg Technician Mechanical,as i was not able to find the above mentioned titled i used Mechanical fitter .
the job and qualification for this both title is same will this cause any problem to me when i submit ITA. thanks

I'm sorry, but I'm really not sure about the correct answer.
I wouldn't want to give you bad advice.

This is JUST my opinion.

If your job title is "Production Eng Technician Mechanical", then that's what I'd put, if the system allows you to.

I think you are best contacting NZIS and asking them.

You could do the best you can. Assuming that your answers are not important for getting extra points by being on the POL for example.
Then, when you get a case officer, you could ask, and amend your ITA.

But, to be honest, it would be better to find out first.

I don't see a problem with the job and qualifications being the same.
After all a welder will have a welding job, and will have welding qualifications.

So, if you are a 'mechanical fitter', then your qualifications could well be in 'mechanical fitting' !
