Is there an age limit? *PLEASE HELP :( *

I was wondering if you could help me out PLEASE!!! I don?t know if this true or not but me and my mum are securely thinking about immigrating to New Zealand when I leave school this year we have look at the NZIS site and everything its going to take 3 or 4 years to sort everything so its ok to come to NZ and my mum is 42, 43 this year and is training to be a nurse so that we can go to NZ but I?ve been heard in school that my mum can?t go because of her age and we wouldn?t be allowed one step in NZ before she would be sent back home and other teachers said it has happened in the passed to them because of the age PLEASE HELP US NEW ZEALAND MEANS THE WORLD TO ME AND MY MUM

The age limit for Skilled Migration is 55 years, so you will be fine :icon_biggrin:

Where are you emigrating from?

As long as your mum is a qualified nurse, and she is under 55 years old when she makes her application for residency, then she should be fine.

well I'm coming from the uk

Me and my mum was on the NZIS site where me and my mum come across the job links under the work and live permanently page on the site we was looking at the nursing (Aged Care) bit now can a migrant worker go to New Zealand to work has a nurse (Aged Care) under the work and live permanently visa or do you need to have a job has something else with more of skilled profession like a nurse in a hospital can you even get a visa under that job?? its just that we need some help please to make shore we haven?t got it wrong.

Hi Jemma,

Can't help you much on that one I'm afraid - you'll have to check with the NZIS. The telephone number they advertise is a premium rate number (?1 a minute), but if you give them a call on the following number, you get through to the same people but it only costs the same as a national rate call! The number is: 01344 716199.

Just to let you know if your mum is training to be a nurse they do like at least one years post registration experience before you can go to New Zealand

I think she meant once your mum is qualified and registered as a nurse, she will need to find work as a nurse in the UK for one year so she has some nursing experience, before she can work in New Zealand.
