university fees

we hope to move out in sep 2005. my eldest son will be starting the equivalent of 2 years in 6th form. we are hoping to move knowing that we have residency but i have heard that we may have to pay overseas student fees for him to go to uni? is there a timescale for this??

I'm almost certain that if you have PR, then you do not need to pay international student rates.

To pay full international fees would only be the case if your son was not included in your application, and instead, came on his own student visa.

thanks taffy. thats another thing ticked off my list! i am in the middle of filling in my teacher registration form and my qualification assessment form as we speak. i even had my appraisal at work today and told my boss that i was leaving if nz would have me...........sooooooooo excited!!!!

I'm at uni in NZ and I can definately confirm that as long as you have a permanent residency sticker in your passport (uni admissions will ask to see it or a photocopy), you'll pay domestic fees not international ones.

Mind you, I just got my uni bill for ten thousand bucks last week, whah!
