Hi guys,

J,
Zero isn't a bad score. The trouble is, how do you weight the different lines. How does age affect things ? I've just guessed. You could put in your own numbers for each line, based upon what you think about yourself and your situation. Of course that makes it difficult to compare your score with others.
I'd have thought you'd have a good chance, but maybe if you had wads of cash, that would help :icon_biggrin:
Waiting - tell me about it. Aren't we all.............
Pets - too much information :icon_eek: icon_exclaim.gif
:icon_biggrin:

Jodie,
If you really only score -2 that must give hope to those on 0.
Mind you, if you can't cheat properly - I'm not so sure :icon_biggrin:

[quote:189d4298c8]I was driving round town today and it all felt really familiar and like I'd been here for ages[/quote:189d4298c8]

If that ain't a good sign, I don't know what is.

Taffy,
It has been pointed out to me that I forgot to include points for research & preparation.
It occurs to me that maybe starting a website & forum should give you extra points. What do you think !?

Yep, people do seem to think that getting there is the big part. I tend to think you've just got to the start line. Then comes the real test.

Now what's all this brands busniness ! We hardly buy anything with a well known brand. My idea is if you recognise it, they've spent money on advertising to get it known. I don't want to pay for that, so I look for the thing I don't recognise.
That should be really easy in NZ ! :icon_biggrin:
WE buy lots of stuff in Lidl, a German based company. The qualities really good, and it's incredibly cheap. We'll probably miss that more than anything :icon_sad:

Glad you're together again. That's so much better.
Good luck to you.

Cheers
Steve

Hi LouLou,
Do you think it's fair ?
I suppose the question is, do you get marked down on anything in particular ? And, does that really apply to you ?

For example, if you have 2 teenage kids, you can up your numbers on that if they are positive, and you don't think they'll have any problems.
Of course if they don't want to go - your stuck with the score !

Cheers
Steve

You are soooooo cheeky, I am certainly not that old thank you very much.

We dont have a house to sell, we sold that about a year ago and we are renting, that gave us -5 to start of with!

Thank goodness we are not close to our families, my mother is just a pain in the rear end, my dad is very much its your life get on with it and my sister who is the only one who knows of our plans is sending me on a major guilt trip even though she has a very busy life and rarely sees us.

Andrews family on the other hand will not be shocked when we tell them of our plans, his parents have already said we will not be surprised if you decided to emigrate once you have been there for your holiday. They are a different kettle of fish to mine.

Anyway back to the calculator...... we have moved alot in the past 8 years due to the industry that Andrew is in, manufacturing, just as we get settled we are off to somewhere new as he was made redundant, so that wont be a problem, we have a v strong relationship, well I hope so, after 10 years we have decided to get married, over there Dec 17th, Ohope Beach.. (if you see a strange women in ivory it will be me lolo), maybe you could give more points for that, other then that pretty good, we had a laugh!

Loulou

PS we know that going over there isnt going to be easy, there will no doubt be different problems to cope with, but a least I can stick 2 fingers up to his ex wife and tell her where to go... only been waiting 10 years to do it lololol

Blimey, I thought you were at least 26 :icon_eek: icon_exclaim.gif :icon_biggrin:
That is the age these days for having teenage kids, isn't it :icon_frown:
T'was just an example :icon_wink:

I take it you didn't score -5 just because you don't have a house to sell.
That's only if you don't sell it before going. I know some people rent out, but I think (just my opinion), that if that prevents you getting access to your assets, then that adds a risk.

Yep, families - who'd 'ave 'em !
It's really just my dad - but he's getting on and will miss us, even though we don't actually see him much. Not as much as we'd like.
Actually, it's really my mother in-law. Nuf said !

Anyway, I'm just about to add a few more things. Oh dear, I see one of them is 'supportive families' ! I'm not sure that's going to help either of us !

Congrats on the wedding. I hope you get good weather etc. I'll have to find an appropriate smilie....

Hi,
Well, after some feedback, I've aded some extra factors.
Don't blame me if your score goes down !
Of course it might go up :icon_biggrin:

For those of us applying for residency without job offers:
Don't forget, you can always print out the results and take it along to the interview.
It might just help :icon_cool:

Thanks for all your replies.
Come of Taffy, give it a go :icon_razz: :icon_lol:
(I've added extra points for being called Taffy !) :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

Cheers guys,
Steve

Milliemoo,
Stop turning this forum in to some kind of love-fest/porno kinda thing!

Thats the last time I make an innocent comment in front of Milliemoo....

Steve,
You are absolutely right, starting a website and forum should mean you gain automatic residency. Well, maybe not! No one would ever get any decent information if everyone moving to NZ started one of these sites.. that'd be about 40,000 new sites every year!
I think your calculator sounds like its running from NZIS policy to the book, letting people in willy-nilly and stopping some of the best applicants!

Maybe you were right in your previous 'joke', and NZIS ARE using it to assess people now!
