It's a nice beach in tauranga, eh? Was the weather good with you too today? We went to the beach in Owhiro Bay (near Island Bay) and sat on the rocks and had some lunch. I found a paua shell walking along the shore (Probably shouldn;t have picked it up but I did! :icon_eek: icon_exclaim.gif ) and it's really amazing colours. Look out for them cos they're really nice.

So what have you been up to since you got here? Daz had his Footy fix this afternoon cos the new national league started today, so we went to support Team Wellington at the local staduim - they drew 2 - 2 with Canterbury! But Daz was happy - 3 months without any footy and he was starting to get a bit stressed! We went to watch the rugby on Friday night too -Wellington Lions against Waikato - semi final of the NPC - and we're through to the final next weekend now. Had a weekend full of sport - great! Can't really complain - it is the first weekend of sport since we've been here!

Been fab weather here today, really quite hot. havent done much, bought a new camera (hence photo!) took lots of pics of everything!

Had a drive round some of the new housing developments. Some really stunning houses going up round this way!

Good luck with the sport, cant stand it myself, never liked football!

You're lucky you're not a sports fan then - they're not into much other than the rugby here it seems!

Are you renting at the moment? When are you thinking of buying?

We've been talking to a friend who's been giving us advice on nice/not so nice areas in Wellington to look when we start looking to buy somewhere. Local knowledge is invaluable.

Have you met many people yet?

Wont be buying for a few months yet i expect. Unfortunatley I havent met a soul yet, exept the staff at McDonalds, Burger king and the local chippy/chinese takeaway!

Would feel like a real spanner walking in to a bar on my own, so just have to wait for my nearest and dearest to arrive!

I'm sure with the kiwi friendliness, you'd soon start chatting to another local sat at the bar if you went in for a drink. You should try it - you don;t ever have to go back there again if you DO feel like a spanner! :icon_lol:

How long til Welshy joins you? Have you started looking for work yet?

Hi Taffy,

Glad to hear your OK. Love the pic :icon_razz:

Lots more details of what you've been up to please. The new housing you were talking about, do these developments tend to be in 'drive only' places or is it possible to find somewhere nice within wlaking distance to local amenities. Sorry, I just have this vision from watching american movies, where it seems you have to drive just to get to the corner shop.

How was the flight....did you cope OK?

Milliemoo

hi Jodie

little story for Daz. My hubby told me that when footie was only getting going in NZ if a player kicked the ball up the field the crowd woud applaud 'cos he'd made 'good ground'. :icon_biggrin:
