Selection

Hi all

Chris has said they already have made a selection, somebody tell me thay haven't, I thought it was going to be on Friday(as the last one was friday two weeks ago) and was going to E-mail my EOI tonight thinking it would be in time. Another two weeks seems like ages away, please give me some hope?

You were asking where we hope to settle. My offer of employment is in Greenlane, Auckland. However living in Auckland is not what we want so we'll rent somewhere near there while I'm working, but in the mean time we are planning to open our own pre school, in the Hawkes Bay area and settle there.
At one stage we were talking of moving to Wellington, but the job offer has changed everything for the moment.
Do you have children and how old are they? We have two girls, three and a half and 13 months.

Sorry another question.

Can anyone explain what exactly they want with regards to [b:f62a61e384]Tax No, Social Security No [/b:f62a61e384]and also when they ask about other family members, do you really have to put down mum. dad and siblings or is that just in case they wanted to apply under the Family Catagory.

Yes the draw was on Wednesday :icon_cry: - but the selection points still at 100.

Tax number is your tax reference number that you will have on any correspondence from the tax office - such as a coding notice.

Social Security number - is you National Insurance Number.

Relatives - this is in case any members of your family wnat to follow you out in the family category. We included living parents, brothers and sisters only.

It seems that NZIS performs the selection process every second Wednesday, hence their often seen statement of "Next round of selections in a fortnight." Last time they pulled EOI's with the 100 point number and had something like 807 EOI's. I was fortunate enough to be selected on 29 Sept. with 105 points and no job offer. They select 862 EOI's that time.

Social security number is for those of us from the US. What other countries have the social security system, I don't know.

If your "Mum" is to ever apply for residency under the family member option, and you intend to sponsor her, you have to list her on your EOI.

Hi Lorraine,

Sorry for the delayed response! We have two boys aged four and one.

Did you get to the New Zealand Expo at the weekend? The NZIS said that with a job offer the EOI was being processed as a priority (as you would expect) with a case officer making contact within two weeks of selection. :icon_eek: icon_exclaim.gif You will probably be at the ITA and Permanent Residence Visa granted stage long before us!
