Just wanted to say that [b:757046eaa0]WE'VE GOT OUR WORK PERMITS - YAY!![/b:757046eaa0]

Yep - after a number of trips to the immigration office and having to go back with more and more proof of things, they finally gave us our passports back with shiny new work permits in on Friday! Yay! :icon_biggrin:

So, sorry NZ - you'll have to put up with Jod & Daz for at least the next 2 years! (Hopefully more if the PR app goes through swimmingly...)

Oh yeah - Daz had his police check through yesterday too - he's all clear. :icon_wink: Wondering where mine is now tho cos they were both sent off together - I'm not a criminal, honest!! :icon_eek: icon_exclaim.gif

Ah, Thanks guys!

It's always good to share experiences in here - we told our parents that we had our work permits and they just said 'oh that's good news then' - they just don't understand what this means, do they! They don't understand the stress of getting a job, making sure all the NZIS forms are filled in, making sure you get the right evidence to show NZIS, queueing up in the NZIS office for hours.....

It's good to be amongst other peeps that know what you're going through! :icon_biggrin:

Welshgirl - I really do think we;ve made the right decision coming out here - hope you can be on your way too soon!
