Work to residence?

Hi

I am an IT technician from South Africa with 6 years experience, but no formal degree or diploma. If I get a job offer in NZ, will I be need to get a work permit on a work to residence basis, then submit an EOI once I have been there for two years, or what should I do?

With a job offer I will have around 110 points. Surely once I am there I will be able to submit my EOI purely on points, can't I?

I am confused about this topic, as I have been told by our local NZ agency that without a formal qualification, I will not even be considered, regardless of my points...Can anyone help me? :icon_question:
