Hiya everyone
saw this topic and thought id join in. Id like to move to anywhere basically. Milliemoo you may not be alone i have an interview tomorrow night with a hospital in Auckland so you may not be the only one :icon_mrgreen:
Another possibility for us is lake Taupo seem to have a great relationship with the HR personel at that hospital we chat by email approx 5 times a day and have just sent off my application form so fingers crossed. If anyone can be of any help tho i want somewhere to live that gives us a better quality of family life. Somewhere pretty warmer than here. With good schools and friendly neighbours. That would do us just fine. Oh and a house with a paddock cos my daughter wants a pony
Love
Lozza

I've picked Clarks Beach off a map I saw once..
It's just to the down and to the left of Auckland.

Sounds like a lovely place to live.

There's 5 of us.. myself, my wife , and 2 kids and Harvey the miniature wire haired daschund.
We hope to get out next June or July to have a good look around at schools, hospitals (wife will be a midwife by then) and IT oppochancities in and around Auckland..

If anyone knows anything of Clarks Beach it would be good to find out more.. t;interweb seems to point to it being a bit like NZ's equivalent of Eastbourne, in a god's waiting room type of stylie, but I still like the sound of it.

Well I am still looking but it looks like Auckland is going to be the best bet. I work for Excel in the UK and they have several sites in Auckland that I can transfer to. My partner wants to work in I.T and she has a good background in this so I think Auckland is our best bet. The problem is now where in the city? I am hoping to have 3 weeks off in Auckland before I have to start work. This should give me time to sort out a place to live and get stuff like cars etc . :icon_biggrin:

We are in the long, slow process of moving to NZ. We have to wait until I've got my BS in chemistry (3 years - I'm only taking one class at a time). We haven't got much money (at this point, hardly more than airfare), so I'll have to go over and nail down a job before we can go. There's 6 in the family, so it isn't feasible for us all to go over for a vacation, unfortunately.
My oldest son will be 16 or 17 when we finally move, but he is very keen to live in NZ. We don't anticipate much trouble adjusting for any of us, beyond the usual ex-pat angst. ::):
It's really nice to come to this forum when I need a bit of cheering up!
