Not too sure about my qualification?

Hi all, this is my first post and I'd just like to say it's a great site full of super information. It's definatley the best fourm I've found so far. :icon_biggrin:

I have posted this before on a different forum and got no response!

Anyway, I'm looking to apply for residency under the "The Skilled Migrant Category" but I'm not too sure if my diploma is a "recognised basic qualification". It's a UK awarded qualification from BTEC called Higher National Diploma in Multimedia. However on the "List of recognised qualifications" all it says is this:

assessed as occupying Level 5 of the Register and will therefore qualify for 50 points.
? Agriculture
? Business
? Computing
? Design (Higher National Diploma only)
? Engineering
? Hotel, Catering and Institutional Management (Higher National Diploma only)

Are they like headers or catagories?

According to the BTEC Website http://www.edexcel.org.uk/qualificat....aspx?id=72130
Multimedia is listed under Art and design. So, design is on the list - Does that mean I'm OK with what I have? Hope so.

So, can anyone shed some light on this for me? :icon_confused:

You have a choice of two really. Multimedia is a computer qualification, but also comes under design. I would imagine there would be no problem under either of those categories. Even if there was a problem, you could always get it assessed by the NZQA who will match it up to the nearest NZ qualification for you.

Thanks a million Taffy! You have put my mind at ease! I probably won't be applying for a year or 2, but I guess it's a long process of making sure everything is in place and ready for when I want to apply.
