Holiday!

Hi All

We're off on holiday to the north island at the beginning of December, we have a week in Auckland then we are visiting O'Hope for two weeks, to meet some friends (whilst down there we are getting wed...must be crazy after 10 years together lol)

It is our first visit over there and wondered if anybody could recommend any places to visit that arent in the tourist books but worth a look see, dont mind too much travelling but we will have our 7 year old in tow).

Andy (my partner...soon to be hubby) might be off to Christchurch for a couple of days to have a look see/register with agencies for engineering jobs. Any tips for that would be a great help too.

If I were you, I would head straight up north and check out the beaches and just chill after that long flight. Your kiddy may enjoy dune surfing on 90 mile beach...you climb one of the steepest sand dunes (takes about 20mins!) then at the top you lie on a boogie board and fling yoursel off the top! :icon_eek: icon_exclaim.gif It's great fun !!! honest :icon_biggrin:

Congrats Lou Lou. Must be something in the 10 year thing - my partner and I are getting married in December also after 10 years together and since we've made the decision I've heard of a few other couples doing the same.

Could I be rude and ask when you get back, could you post on here how sucessful your husband was regarding agencies/jobs etc and what their response to him was like in the engineering sector.
My hubby is an engineer (HVAC) too, so if we could pick your brains that would be great! :icon_biggrin:
