We've been selected - yay! :026:

God - things are moving pretty quickly now! Only been here 2 months and we're already going through the process for PR - didn;t think we'd be doing this for at least 6 months or so after we arrived - Madness!!

Fingers crossed things will go well and nothing crops up to rock the boat. We wanna be kiwis now - we love it here!

Good luck to everyone else in the same boat. Think I might go get a few bottles of wine to celebrate tonight!

Wow! Congratulations for you and Daz!!
I can't believe the residency process could go so fast?!

Does it mean you are NZ residents now you are selected? Or do you need to work for 2 years in order to become residents?

The only thing we are waiting for is my police certificate and then we are going to put our application in... Hopefully ours will go as smooth as yours...?

Hey Steve - tell me about it! It does seem like only yesterday we were getting ready to move out of our flat - it is a bit crazy how fast things have moved - not that we're complaining! Just hope our PR app goes through as quick!!

Hafi - we're not residents yet (unfortunately!) - we've just had our EOI selected from the pool so will now (hopefuly!) be invited to apply for residency. It's one step closer tho - we're nearly there!

I got up early yesterday (it was Tuesday here when it was Wednesday there) and filed my EOI with the NZIS site. The status almost immediately changed to payment received, GOOD SO FAR!

Today, I'm on the 'puter at 7am, California time. My status reads SELECTED! That was FAST! Guess I got in just under the selection process start time and my 105 points (without a job offer) was good enough for this round.

So, how long until all the fun begins? :icon_lol:

Blimey, that was good timing.

In about 2 weeks you'll probably get a letter saying hi from NZIS.

After that it's anyones guess, without a job offer.
That's what we all want to know.

The number selected yesterday was down, so the workload for NZIS is decreasing, which helps us out a bit.

Oh, don't forget to click on 'selected' to see what the pop-up says.
Sometime it will change the message to "You're going to get an ITA sometime" !!!

Not to throw the jinx into what appears to be progress but, would it gum up the works if I was selected with my EOI being filed from the US and then I moved to NZ and started the work visa process? I'd have documents on file from two different locations.

I was thinking about that job offer thing... and how no one knows what will happen to those whose EOI was selected on the minimum required points but have no job offer.

Ideas? opinions?
