Where to start?

I have applied for a PhD position at the University of Auckland. I'm assuming that with this position I would be best suited to apply for a student visa. However, my husband will be coming with me and I'm unsure where to start with his visa/permit process. He has not started to look for a job, but he has a master's degree in Fisheries Biology.
Also, we would be bringing our dog (from the United States). Will she required quarantine? I keep hearing conflicting reports on this.

Hi! From what I've heard when you are from the US, there is a quarantine for animals. I'm not sure how long it is, but I'm pretty sure there is a quarantine. I wish you and your husband and dog the best!

Hi,
Yes, quarantine is required if you are coming from the US. Your husband will need to apply for his own work permit to enable him to join you for the length of time of your student visa. However, to get a work permit, he will need an offer of employment!

So, finding work is probably the best place to start with :icon_biggrin:
