I have been lurking around here a while, great site!

I noticed that a few people intend to go to New Zealand on a WHV and then get a job and get a work visa. Unfortanately I can't do this as I have already used one and even though I was offered an extension to my contract I didn't take it at the time...D'oh!

I only get 80pts, so i'm a bit stuck as i really need a job offer. I have a degree in one of the shortage areas, but my work experience isn't related.

Has anybody had success with finding a job when you are so far away, or can i look for a job on a tourist visa?

Some poeple do get jobs remotely.
Some by phone, some by video.
It's not easy though.
The biggeest problem I think is that employers aren't convinced that you are serious until you show commitment and go out there.

You can go on holiday for 6 months or if you get a holiday visa, 9 months extendable to 12.

I know Bob is in England, but I just wanted to clarify that the "6 months extendable to 9 months" isn't true for all countries. For the US, it's 3 months for a visitor's visa. Not sure if it can be extended. I've been meaning to research that.
